Day 1 (3/9/12)
Today, we embarked on our journey to become Scoot Cabin Crew! There are a total of 5 interns (Chelsea, Yvonne, Matthew, Aaron and Ray) from AMS, and together with us are 14 other individuals whom are training to be cabin crew.

Upon stepping into the briefing room in Scoot’s office at Changi Airport, we were surprised to find out that the three male interns from AMS were the only male trainees in this batch! Also, our fellow trainees include ex-cabin crew from other airlines and 3 trainees from Japan!
The entire morning for the day was solely an induction program which was kicked off by a talk by CEO Mr Campbell Wilson. He gave an introduction to Scoot and how the culture was like and was very friendly throughout delivering his speech. This was followed by talks about the various departments in Scoot.

In the afternoon, we headed to TP which was something very familiar to us interns and we attended a briefing about Safety & Emergency Procedure training, which commence next week at SIA Training Centre. After that, Scoot’s Head of Safety Security, Quality & Environment gave us a talk about SMS (Safety Management System) which was something we had already learned in the module Aviation Safety Management and Human Factors. This brought back familiar terms and concepts from what we had been learning the entire semester!

At the end of the first day we all went back still somewhat feeling lost and yet excited for the things to come which definitely will be very interesting!

Day 2 (4/9/12)
The second day was mostly related to the girls as it was grooming day! The day started off with a lesson on Scoot’s cabin crew grooming and attire policies and regulations.
The entire afternoon was used mostly to teach the females on how to groom themselves well and portray themselves as presentable cabin crew, from hairstyles, make up on the face and even all the way to their nails, Aaron, Matthew and I were so thankful that we were guys.
Besides that, we also had the chance of trying out the uniforms as they needed our sizes! That was it for day 2 of our training.

Day 3 (5/9/12)
This was a whole day of just absorbing information and knowledge! (LT 55 was freezing as usual) The loads of things that we learned were the cabin configuration, crew complement and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), and also FDP (Flight duty period). We were lucky as we had already learned some of these stuff in some of our modules. :)
Also, we received our Scoot staff IDs! We were super excited as we received it as it had our faces on it and it and we were labeled as “AIR CREW”. After the whole day of adsorbing information, we went home with our brain dead brains.

Day 4 (6/9/12)
Today, we had more lessons about in-flight documentations. Also, we learned about Special Needs Passengers and Cabin Management. We also had 2 quizzes today! With a passing mark of 80%, every question counts! We were relieved that everyone in our batch passed both quizzes!
We also had some group activities with our batch mates during today’s lessons. Up till today, we have gotten closer to our batch mates and they are all really nice people. Not forgetting the trainers that taught us with so much patience and love. They really have a wealth of experience! Thus far we are all so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to be able to take up this internship and we will definitely continue to work hard and share more experiences with everyone!
