Evacuation Slide Training Facility at SIA Training Centre
Time has passed so fast and it’s already the 3rd week of our SCOOT cabin crew training!  We are having Safety and Emergency Procedure (SEP) assessment on the same week after six days of training and intensive reading. The start of the week we had revision. Everyone was mugging (studying) hard before the test as our trainer warned us before that the assessor on that day will be a strict lady. (No kidding) The assessor turned out to be the lady who was with us for the fire fighting drill. She is strict and friendly at the same time.

The result for the assessment was out on Thursday and fortunately, everyone passed!! (Yayyyy) Everyone made it to the next training which is on first aid! The first day of first aid, which is on the Friday, we are taught on how to do an adult one-man CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

At first, we were saying that first aid will be easier compared to SEP training. However, the first practical on CPR made us take back our words. We thought that doing CPR is just performing mouth-to-mouth breathing for ventilation and chest compression for pumping blood through the heart. (Isn't it like what we always see on tv shows?)

Noooo! There are 10 steps in order to perform a correct CPR! And there’s a machine attached to the dummy to ensure that we locate the correct hand position for chest decompression. (We can’t trick the machines!) Nonetheless, we had fun performing CPR to the dummy and making sure we locate the correct position on the chest for the compression!

Last minute mugging before assessment..

Revision time!
